In the case of good books, the point is not how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.

Is it autumn yet?

I'm not a fan of summer. Those who know me are aware that I hate the heat, dislike sweating, despise wearing short sleeves and shorts, and have this thing about feet...ick. Three to four months of having to see toes and feet just creeps me out. Please put those things away.

I'm also not a baseball fan so there's no sports distraction for me during these long, humid, endlessly sunny days.

Imagine how thankful I was to receive this little gem in my inbox today, this look to the future, this symbol of fall.

As I sat at my desk, my hair limp and frizzy from the humidity, my arms goosefleshed from the cranking office a.c., I opened this reminder of the great things from the past and the hope for the future.

For all you Shocker fans, enjoy.
