In the case of good books, the point is not how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.

Mortimer Adler

CBI Tournament

I'm really tired of those individuals who are making fun of the Shockers being invited to play in the CBI tournament. One person even called it a "high school tournament."

We'll see who is laughing next year. This tournament gives the Shox an opportunity to continue post-season play, as well as continue to grow as a team. That was evident Wednesday night against the University of Buffalo and will be evident again Monday night against Stanford. The Shox are maturing and coming together as a team, so why not allow them to continue to play together? This is the springboard for next season. My Dad predicts next year, NIT, the following season the NCAA. I'm going for it in my prediction of NCAA next season. Why not? We beat Siena, albeit early in the season, as well as Cleveland State during Bracket Buster weekend. Both teams are in the NCAA, both teams advanced beating Ohio State and Wake Forest respectively. I'm making plans for travel next March to follow my Shox.

Another good thing about the CBI, I don't believe the opposing team travels with their band and mascot. This means we won't be subject to the dancing Stanford tree. We saw Stanford play at the United Center during the first/second rounds of the NCAA tournament and were awed (?) by their mascot. A giant, dancing tree with boggle-eyes. The young girl seated behind us yelled, "Look, Dad. A Christmas tree."

And people make fun of Wu? Seriously.
