Mardi Gras for a Cause
Monday, March 2, 2009 Friday night was the Mardi Gras for a Cause fundraising event for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Josh Jackson with Abode Home is hoping to make this an annual event. Josh was nominated last year for Man of the Year, and during his campaign his mother and our sweet friend was diagnosed with cancer. A determined and willful woman, she is doing well and Josh has taken it upon himself to help with local fundraising events.
The event was at Abode Home and included food provided by Abuelo's, A.J.'s, LeMonde, Red Bean's Bayou Grill, and many others. There was also beer, wine, and my favorite, a Hurricane fountain. Live music greeted us as we walked in and we were able to watch artist Mike Pott's do what he does best.
It was great fun for a great cause. (more pics in the gallery)
