Quotes

In the case of good books, the point is not how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.

Mortimer Adler

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

This is my Christmas-Halloween-Thanksgiving-Birthday all rolled into one...NCAA tournament time! My family and I love college basketball and March is definitely are favorite time of year.

We used to go to the tournament, selecting a region and applying for tickets (many were lottery). Come March we would pack up and go to our basketball destination: San Antonio, Denver, St. Louis, Chicago...The usual group was my parents, my brother and I, and also cousins (Ingrid, JJ, Steve...) and our "adopted" family, Scott and Vic. What good times we had!! We've seen Syracuse, UCLA, Texas, Minnesota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Michigan St., Michigan, Kentucky, Stanford, WSU...

We stopped going two years ago when I started graduate school. Besides, after WSU's Sweet Sixteen run my Dad decided to retire from tourney travel. Well, we missed it all too much and beginning in 2010 we are coming out of retirement. I can hardly wait.

But, until then I will be satisfied with running my brackets through CBS Sportsline and taking off work Thursday and Friday to watch the games. There's also a chance we may get tickets for the KC 1st/2nd rounds! So, it's basketball, basketball, basketball...and now WSU has been invited and will host a game as part of the CBI tournament. Of course, Dad and I will be there!

I just may OD on all this basketball, but what a way to go!
