Quotes

In the case of good books, the point is not how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.

Woofstock

It seems I have forgotten to relay our adventures at our 4th Woofstock. Eleanor Rigby loves Woofstock. Many people state that dogs are relatively dumb and do not understand actual vocabulary, merely tone. These people obviously do not own a dog. This was Rigby's 4th Woofstock and I know she understands the word, "Woofstock." Because when Brad announced to her Saturday morning that we were going, she proceeded to run up and down the stairs, from the kitchen to the front door, "talking" to us as we apparently were too long in gathering keys, leashes, last sips of coffee. She was so excited that when Brad opened the trunk of the car to get out an old army blanket, she jumped inside the trunk. After much coaxing, she finally climbed into the back seat, where she sat with large head hanging out of the window, ears and jowls flapping in the breeze.

When we arrived we met a few friends, Kevin and Di and their two boxers, Brody & Gracie. Gracie was pretty rambunctious, wanting to wrestle with a Dane pup. Speaking of Great Danes, there were quite a few. I love Danes, such noble looking animals. The smaller dogs always make themselves noticed either by their shrill barks or their outfits.

This is one thing we never do, dress up our Rigby. Brad believes it to be embarassing and humiliating for the dog and I tend to agree. Of course, at Woofstock the costume contest is part of the fun and many people go all out.

It was a great morning to see all the different breeds, to fill our goody bag with free dog biscuits, a new leash, three new frisbies, and a pedometer. Rigby met new friends and was ready for a dip in her pool and a long nap that afternoon.

See pics gallery for more photos of Rigby's day in Sedgwick County Park.
